- During the filling of a hydrogen tube trailer, a hissing sound alerted the staff at an industrial gas manufacturing plant to a leak.
The pressure in the tube trailer being filled was close to 200 bar. During the verification process, the operator heard a leak at a valve on a tube at the rear of the trailer.
He took the first safety measures by immediately closing all the valves of the tube trailer. The neighbouring filling stations were also shut down, and the area was secured.
A safety perimeter of 20 meters was established around the loading area. The tube trailer was then purged with inert gas, and corrective maintenance was carried out. - Event Initiating system
