Description
A liquid hydrogen trailer-tractor was travelling on a highway. Because of the snow and the ice underneath, the tractor slid off the road to the right and overturn.
The police and fire department arrived on the scene. There was no package failure or release.
The emergency response team of the transport company was assigned to oversee the up-righting of the tractor and trailer. The tractor and trailer were both towed to a safe location.

Lesson Learnt

All safeguards worked as expected. The impact did not cause any damage to the pressure control system and there was no hydrogen release. This event confirms the exceptional safety records of this type of transport.
Corrective Measures
This incident was reviewed with all drivers during a safety training . In the event of severe weather drivers were instructed to safely pull over and to contact their supervisor.
