Fire and explosion in a hydrogen production and storage facility

Description
The explosion occurred at a hydrogen fuel plant mainly serving hydrogen forklift fleets.
The explosion damaged several nearby homes and could be felt nearly 10 miles away.

Police and firefighters responded and not injury was reported. Several houses in the neighbourhood experienced glass breaking.

According to a statement of the company, "...there was no detonation of an on-site storage tanks and no workers were injured."

Approx. 60 homes were damaged (mainly glasses). In some cases, cabinet doors inside home blew open with contents strewn throughout.

The company credited hydrogen safety protocols and systems that prevented injuries and more damage to the facility.
Officials said safety systems were operational, including hydrogen tank pressure relief mechanisms and isolating valves.

However, an explosion occurred, able to produce a pressure wave damaging surrounding houses. Public would have the right to be informed, but end 2025, still nothing was available publicly on the announced investigation.
