- Description
- A liquid hydrogen tanker overturned and rolled over on the ramp at the interconnection between to highways. A pressure gauge on the left side of the trailer was ruptured and leaked liquid hydrogen. Approximately 100 to 200 cubic feet was released before a local fire department team turned off the valve isolating the broken line.
Company officials were notified and responded to the scene. The accident scene was blocked off and all public access to the ramps was denied until the LH2 tank was reinstalled upright and removed from the scene.
Since also diesel fuel leaked from the left saddle tank onto the ground (approximately 15 gallons), a contractor was called to the scene to clean up this spill. - Event Initiating system
