DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS
Sodium chlorate is produced by the electrolysis of a hot sodium chloride (NaCl) solution according to the formula:
NaCl + 3 H2O → NaClO3 + 3 H2

Hydrogen is a by-product of this process.
